The world-system is facing a global crisis and the search for alternatives is often marked by polarizing narratives, that raise the interesting question about how to effectively address these global risks and challenges as Humanity.

The world-system is facing a myriad of pressing environmental and sociopolitical risks and challenges, ranging from limitation of individual freedoms to extreme poverty. In this context, many individuals, groups, and organizations are actively seeking alternatives to existing institutional systems, with the aim of transforming the world in which we live. This search for alternatives is often marked by polarizing narratives, differing approaches, and a great deal of misinformation and fake news, raising interesting questions about how to effectively address these global risks and challenges as Humanity.

Firstly, we think that It is crucial to understand that different ideas and approaches can coexist and, indeed, complement each other to address the complex challenges we face as a global society. We recognize that many organizations and projects seeking transformation towards sustainability, ecological living, and related topics may have polarizing discourses without necessarily undermining their positive impact. The diversity of approaches and perspectives can enrich the debate and foster innovation in the search for real solutions.

However, it is also essential to acknowledge that concepts built on any form of dogmatic polarization, and though not open to dialogue with other narratives, can limit the ability to find effective solutions for the whole. Real and profound transformation goes beyond merely pointing out problems and requires the exploration of new forms of social, political, and economic solutions. Here we encounter a wide range of groups and orientations, some of which may appear reactionary or sectarian. Nevertheless, it is critical to recognize that many of these manifestations stem from an internal transformative impulse, which can sometimes be co-opted or distorted on the plane of ideas.

In this context, some of the questions that arise in our community are:

  • How does this process of searching for an alternative and real solution in the forms of social political and economic connections take place?
  • Is it necessary to constantly seek alternative forms, or is it possible to use traditional or existing forms to address current challenges?
  • Is it a matter of technical approaches or a matter of escaping the present into an idealized future?

These are complex questions that require deep reflection and an understanding of the nature of the challenges we face.

We are aware that real change begins from within each individual, as stated in our post “True Change: Inner Transformation as the Key to Real Human Evolution”. It is vital to recognize the importance of working on oneself and integrating the internal polarizations we all have to act responsibly and sovereignly in the world. At the same time, it is necessary to imagine and create new structures and systems that are post-everything-we- know by definition, that is, seeking solutions beyond the limitations and problems inherent in the current world-system and all of its socio, political, and economic institutional framework. That doesn´t mean going against the existing ones, it means acknowledging their shortcomings and embracing true change to transcend into new, better, ones.

That´s why we acknowledge that the search for alternatives is not exclusive nor dogmatic but complementary and emergent. Different movements and approaches can coexist and collaborate in creating possible futures that don’t yet exist, where people feel genuinely involved. Alliances can arise organically with those with whom we share resonance, where we can feel truly committed and part of something larger than ourselves.

The search for alternative ways of relating socially and economically is a complex and constantly evolving process. It is not simply about escaping the present into an idealized future, but about recognizing the interdependence between individuals and social movements and working together to create new ways of being in the world. It is crucial to understand that internal changes in each individual are essential for transforming existing structures and systems and that collaboration and resonance with other movements are fundamental for addressing the global challenges we face today.

In this sense, it is valuable to recognize that different movements may have different approaches and strategies, but they share a common vision of transformation and change. Polarization and differences should not be obstacles to collaboration and the construction of a more sustainable and equitable future. On the contrary, it is necessary to work on interdependence, finding common ground, and creating organic alliances with those with whom we share a vision of change.

It is essential to remember that the process of searching for alternative ways of relating socially and economically can be challenging and does not have a one-size-fits-all solution. It requires constant internal reflection, openness to new ideas, and active engagement with individual and collective transformation.

In this article, we propose that the key to authentic evolution lies in a profound internal transformation within each individual, regardless of their context.

In the constant pursuit of a better world, there has been extensive debate on how to change human beings and improve society. However, is it possible to achieve genuine transformation from the outside in? Is modifying the system or environment enough to bring about significant change in ourselves?

Comparing human change to the process of a flower blooming or a chick hatching is enlightening. Forcing a flower to bloom prematurely or breaking an eggshell for a chick to hatch may result in irreparable damage. Similarly, attempting to change people from the outside can create resistance and conflict, as it involves coercion and violence against each individual’s autonomy. Genuine change, on the other hand, must arise from an internal transformation, a natural evolution emanating from the essence of each person, that wants to change for good.

Personal responsibility is another critical factor in the pursuit of true change. Blaming external factors such as the government, capitalism, or society for personal problems and suffering can leave people in a passive and dependent position on external circumstances. In contrast, taking responsibility for one’s problems and taking action to solve them is a more effective approach. Recognizing that problems and solutions lie within each individual implies empowerment and control over one’s destiny. It isn´t easy, but nothing is! Requires goodwill and determination.

Freedom, for us, is a fundamental value in human evolution and helps us as an illustrative example of how genuine change must come from within. Freedom cannot be granted by others, nor does anyone need permission to be free. It is an internal process involving liberating oneself from internal limitations that bind us to the past, wounds, traumas, excessive ambitions, others’ expectations, projections, and illusions. True freedom depends not on the environment or system in which one lives, but on each individual’s ability to free oneself from the internal ties that limit our full development and full potential.

Ultimately, the approach of changing human beings from the outside in, through modifying and imposing systemic or environmental changes, historically has always ended in different forms of direct or indirect forms of authoritarian regimes. That´s why from DSAFE we propose that real change must originate from a deeply wanted internal transformation within each individual's consciousness, regardless of the context in which they find themselves.

In a constantly evolving world with numerous challenges, it is easy to fall into the temptation of seeking external solutions or blaming external factors for our problems and suffering. However, this approach only perpetuates a mentality of dependency and victimization, preventing true growth and personal development. It is time to leave behind the belief that change will come from the outside and recognize that each of us has the power and responsibility to create real change in our lives and the world.

Again, blaming external factors for personal problems and suffering is to stay rooted in passive resistance to true change, which requires assuming responsibility and taking action to solve our problems with intelligence and humanity (both powerful inner resources of all Humans). Freedom is presented as an example of how change must be born from within, freeing oneself from internal limitations.

We can start by taking responsibility for our own thoughts, emotions, actions, and choices and working on our inner transformation. True freedom cannot be granted by others or conditioned by external circumstances. Freedom is a mental and emotional state achieved when we free ourselves from our internal limitations, such as limiting beliefs, fears, attachments, and irrational expectations. It is a constant process of self-awareness, authenticity, and self-reflection.

Real change will not come from the outside but lies within the essence of each individual. It is time to stop blaming external factors and seeking superficial solutions, and instead, look within ourselves and work on a profound inner transformation. Only then can we achieve true freedom and contribute to a significant change in the world around us. By recognizing the power of personal responsibility, self-reflection, and inner growth, we can create a brighter future for ourselves and the generations to come.

DSAFE envisions a new world order in which people from all corners of the globe are connected and empowered to take decisive action toward a better present and a brighter future.

In a world confronted with a multitude of global challenges and risks, from political representation crises and mounting social inequalities to environmental degradation, the demand for innovative solutions that empower individuals and communities to effect positive change has never been greater.

DSAFE is a decentralized ecosystem comprising individuals and communities united in their mission to connect like-minded people, intentional communities, and safe havens worldwide. This collaboration aims to improve the quality of life for all by creating parallel alternatives to the current global system. DSAFE’s core values of love, unity, respect, freedom, and sustainability underpin its objective of fostering a global network of self-sufficient, interdependent cities that guarantee human rights through innovation, voluntary trade, and mutual cooperation.

Central to DSAFE’s goals is the co-creation of a digital community comprising global citizens dedicated to developing sustainable, regenerative living alternatives in safe, harmonious environments. A key strategic objective is the establishment of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) aligned with DSAFE’s mission, vision, values, and goals. These DAOs will serve as blueprints for decentralized governance within a global network of interdependent communities that prioritize accountability, fairness, and diversity.

Another significant goal of DSAFE is the identification of a strategic, geographically safe location in South America to develop and construct the “Genesis MasterNode’’ (GeM), the first DSAFE Ecosystem regenerative city. The GeM will exemplify sustainable living, demonstrating how decentralized communities can flourish in harmony with nature while emphasizing autonomy, decentralization, and regeneration.

DSAFE, still in its formative stages, welcomes individuals who share its mission, vision, and values to join this dynamic movement. The organization seeks individuals committed to catalyzing a decentralized ecosystem that enables global citizens to live self-sufficiently, within communities whose economy, education, and governance align with their collective aspirations.

DSAFE’s philosophy is aligned with Jiddu Krishnamurti’s idea that it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. The organization strives to disrupt traditional models by establishing alternative governance and self-organization systems that prioritize decentralization, autonomy, sustainability, and regeneration. By harnessing blockchain technology and smart contracts to ensure transparency, accountability, and equitable decision-making, DSAFE aims to build a global network of interconnected communities working toward a better future for all.

DSAFE is more than a vision or an idea; it is a burgeoning movement as individuals and communities unite to co-create a fairer, more decentralized, transparent, and honest global network.

If you share DSAFE’s strategic goals, values, and commitment to sustainability and regeneration and are working to effect positive change in the world, join us in cultivating a global community of empowered individuals dedicated to creating a more just and sustainable world.
